As a full-time Commodity Specialist in the Sourcing and Procurement Department at Aalberts, based in Charlotte, NC and Pageland, SC, you will develop and execute commodity procurement strategies that support Aalberts’ business goals by maintaining working relationships with current suppliers and qualifying potential new sources.

your challenge
- Analyze spend data and use in the development of strategic initiatives and sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
- Creates and maintains savings and value roadmap
- Compile data for decision making, present for approval, and lead/support project execution.
- Negotiate or renew supplier agreements to purchase goods and services for all locations.
- Manage supplier changes and resourcing activities, which include tracking, initiating, coordinating, buyer/supplier follow-up, and align cross-functional input.
- Collaborate with cross-functional areas and their business requirements.
- Participate in the procurement teams’ development of long-term and global commodity strategies that support overall cost savings targets.
- Support other Procurement activities when necessary.
- Represent Purchasing in multi-functional teams locally and globally.
- Provide escalation support for material managers.
- Report to Charlotte, NC office 3 days per week, Pageland, SC 1 day per week, Fridays work remotely from home.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.
requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
- 2+ years’ experience in Purchasing, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proven ability to analyse and present data using AI, Power BI & Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects with accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to discover creative solutions for complex problems using methodical and analytical approaches.
- Eagerness to identify opportunities and capitalize on them.
- Excellent communication specifically Advanced (C1) level in English.
- Proven alignment with Aalberts core values in professional settings.
- Ability to travel domestically regularly and occasional internationally.

work environment
Office-based with occasional visits to distribution centers, and international suppliers. May involve exposure to warehouse environments and require adherence to safety protocols.
travel requirements
Occasional travel to Aalberts operational sites and suppliers.
