Satterfield & Pontikes is looking for a General Superintendent to join our team! In this role you will be a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing multiple field teams, projects, or regions to ensure consistent, high-performing execution aligned with company standards. This role is responsible for assisting in the pre-planning and successful execution of projects - safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the company’s quality expectations. Working in close partnership with project executives, operations leadership, and field teams, the General Superintendent provides strategic insight on workforce planning, site logistics, risk mitigation, and startup/closeout transitions. They also play a key role in the continued education and development of project staff - focusing on scheduling, production tracking, forecasting, safety, and quality control

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance of existing systems and procedures; provide training as appropriate to project teams.
- Assist with development and adherence to Business Unit Plan, revenue forecasts and staffing schedules.
- Review of Subcontractor scopes of work as part of buyout process, as assigned.
- Assist with project(s) pre-planning and development of CPM schedules.
- Participate in project start-up meetings and Owner Preconstruction Conferences.
- Evaluate project team’s construction methods, techniques, and phasing used to build the project(s).
- Assist in identifying, developing a plan for, and resolving issues as they arise during construction.
- Monitor CPM schedule updates and sequencing including submittal status, material tracking and delivery, and production analysis. Assist with development of trade specific tracking as required.
- Monitor Quality Control implementation and documentation on the project(s) for adherence to Company policies and contract requirements.
- Participate in Monthly Margin Analysis and attend Third Point Reviews.
- Monitor Safety planning, execution, and documentation on the project(s). Assist project team and Safety Director with enforcement of policies and procedures based on Contractual, Governmental, and Company requirements.
- Assist project team with scope review of change management and schedule impacts as well as development of fragnets and/or major CPM schedule modifications.
- Assist with handling of subcontractor claims and back charges.
- Organize and conduct monthly meetings for the superintendents within the business unit to address safety and operational best practices.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.
- Lead in the recruiting, training, reviewing and supervision of all department personnel and select, train, and develop talent for key positions.
- Create cross-functional teams & group project plans for a solution-oriented environment.
- Conduct and facilitate crucial conversations regarding employee performance and development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- This role requires regular physical activity, including walking, standing for extended periods of time, and working in various outdoor conditions as part of daily field operations. Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather, if needed. This may include climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Occasional office work will be required.
- Occasional heavy lifting (=50 lbs./=22.7 + kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year college degree in Construction related degree preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of Superintendent experience
- Experienced in scheduling, field supervision, quality control and production of all phases of construction
