Job Description

Instructional Coach : Part Time (.75)


 


Job Opening for 2026/27 Calendar Year:  Job will remain open until filled


Purpose:


The Instructional Coach will provide instructional support for teachers throughout the contracted work day.  The role of the Instructional Coach will include, but is also not limited to data analysis, coaching of peers, coordinating assessments, leading PLC meetings, leading Professional Development activities, and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.  The Instructional Coach works closely with the community, staff, and administration of USD 250.

Pay Rate:


To be determined by district administration using the negotiated teaching salary schedule. 


 


The general role of the Instructional Coach will be to support teachers and/or assist administration in the following ways:



  1. Resource Provider - Expand teachers’ use of a variety of resources to improve instruction

  2. Data Coach - Ensure that student achievement data is used to drive decisions at the classroom and school level and prepare reports for the school and district as required

  3. Curriculum Specialist - Provide guidance and facilitate progress during curriculum alignment process and help ensure the implementation of the curriculum

  4. Instructional Specialist - Help align instruction with curriculum to meet the needs of all students

  5. Mentor - To increase the novice teacher’s instructional skills and to support school-wide induction activities

  6. Classroom Supporter - Increase the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction

  7. Learning Facilitator - Work with administration to design collaborative, job-embedded, standards-based professional learning

  8. Learner - Seek to become better at what he/she does through professional development opportunities and collaboration with colleagues

  9. School Leader - Collaboratively plan, implement, and assess school change initiatives to ensure alignment and focus on intended results, and to monitor transfer from professional development into action

  10. Other duties as assigned by the Principal or District Administration


 


 


 


QUALIFICATIONS


Education/Training:



  • Bachelor’s degree in education

  • minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience


 


Skills/Knowledge:



  • Ability to work with a variety of content areas and a variety of experience levels

  • Organized and data driven decision maker

  • Experience with data analysis and grouping of students preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Multitasking abilities

  • Teacher leader that is skilled at collaboration and works well with peers

  • Willingness to receive instructional coaching training

  • Understanding of the formative and summative assessments required by the district/state
