Scope and responsibilities

Foreign Exchange & Exposure Management

  • Stage FX orders to raise cash and hedge currency risk, including FX spot, forwards, and options.
  • Monitor open FX positions, mark-to-market (MTM) valuations, and P&L impact.
  • Track exposure versus hedge coverage and identify over-hedged or under-hedged positions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly FX exposure and hedge reports.
  • Identify, measure, and mitigate process risk, particularly related to FX risk.

Cash Management & Deal Funding

  • Forecast available cash balances.
  • Ensure cash availability for upcoming purchases, redemptions, deal funding, and other transactions.
  • Monitor for and prevent account overdrafts across multiple currencies.
  • Work with investment teams to ensure cash availability for upcoming investment activity.
  • Facilitate deal funding and cash positioning to support private deal transactions within demanding timelines.
  • Manage cash movements through complex legal entity structures.

Operations, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Address daily operational issues, understand root causes, and implement process improvements.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders including investment teams, fund accounting, auditors, custodians, fund administrators, and counterparties.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve automation, efficiency, and operational controls.
  • Write and maintain effective procedures and provide training when necessary.

Experience required

  • 2+ years of relevant operations experience at an asset management firm, investment bank, or other financial services company.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, cash projection, and multi-currency cash positioning.
  • Strong understanding of FX markets, FX spot, FX forward, FX options, and FX hedging strategies, with the ability to manage multi-currency exposures.
  • Expert in Excel formulas and logic
  • Understanding of complex fund and deal structures a plus
  • Understanding of Custodian Bank a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL and VBA is a plus
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, PowerBI, Power Apps, or Power Automate a plus
  • Knowledge of Advent Geneva & Everest a plus
