Job Description

As the Commercial Real Estate Mortgage Loan Officer, you will play a key role in driving commercial real estate lending strategy by originating, underwriting, and closing high-quality mortgage investments. This position combines production, relationship management, and technical expertise to support the growth and performance of the mortgage portfolio.

Your role and impact

  • Originate and produce commercial mortgage loans within an assigned territory or market segment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mortgage banking correspondents to position the company as a preferred lending partner
  • Underwrite and structure commercial real estate loans, including financial analysis, pricing, and risk assessment
  • Conduct site visits and market inspections to evaluate potential and existing investments
  • Present loan opportunities to the Investment Management Committee for approval
  • Partner with internal teams to support the loan closing process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Review loan documentation and property reports to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Guide and mentor mortgage loan analysts throughout underwriting, approval, and post-closing processes
  • Serve as a resource to loan closers and servicers to support ongoing portfolio performance
