The team you will be a part of

You will join a dynamic team of analysts and full-stack developers dedicated to building and maintaining the custom systems and tools that work to safeguard both our consumers and Whirlpool. We specialize in ingesting complex data from diverse regional systems and consolidating it into streamlined applications for high-impact reporting and analytics. In this role, your work will be central to our mission of proactive product safety.  As a Sr. Analyst within the Global Safety and Regulatory (GSR) organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional safety managers and technical specialists to architect the data systems and analytical tools essential for investigating and reporting on critical product safety concerns

This role in summary

This position seeks a highly autonomous, curious, and technically elite  Full-Stack Cloud Engineer and will be a core contributor to the Global GSR Data System team during a pivotal transformation phase. We are looking for an individual who treats the codebase as their own— not just executing a task, but understands the end to end ripple effects of every line of code across our SQL databases, SignalR hubs, and Angular frontends. This position will be playing a balancing role in supporting as well as optimizing our current on-prem/AWS legacy environment (IIS, SQL Server, .NET Framework) & actively engineering our "lift-and-shift" and "cloud-native" migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Your responsibilities will include

Systems Ownership

  • Ensure system reliability and SLA compliance as a primary priority, while actively enhancing application functionality and proactively driving strategic roadmap initiatives to evolve the systems capabilities.

  • Critical Thinking Requirement: Every task requires an assessment of architectural impact. You will be expected to defend your logic and demonstrate how your change preserves system integrity.

2. Cloud Migration & Modernization

  • Support the migration of on-prem/AWS resources to GCP GCE.

  • Assist in rewriting legacy .NET Framework applications/services into .NET Core for deployment to Cloud Run.

  • Optimize database performance during the transition from SQL Server to Cloud SQL and BigQuery.

3. Codebase Stewardship

  • Perform deep-dive explorations of the existing SQL database schemas and .NET code.

  • Identify and document edge cases or legacy "gotchas" during the migration process, making use of test-driven development.

  • Implement real-time features using SignalR to improve user experience and concurrency management.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of proven autonomy in full-stack web development and cloud engineering, with a proven history of managing the end-to-end lifecycle of production applications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure management (e.g., GCP, AWS)

  • Demonstrated ability to independently master complex technical domains and legacy codebases; must be proactive in self-driven learning and technical problem-solving.

Preferred skills and experiences

Technical Requirements

  1. The Core Stack

  • Back-End: Expert-level .NET Core and legacy .NET Framework. Deep understanding of C# and asynchronous programming.

  • Front-End: Proficient in Angular (modern) and AngularJS (legacy).

  • Database: Expert SQL Server skills (T-SQL, optimization, indexing). Proficiency in (or fast learner of) Google Cloud SQL and BigQuery.

  • Real-Time: Experience with SignalR for real-time data synchronization.

  • Business Intelligence: Fundamental familiarity with SSRS, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar BI platforms.

  • Data Security: Utilize robust data protection protocols and secure coding practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive product safety data across all systems.
