Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Employee Benefits Program Manager will be responsible for the following:

  1. Oversight of global employee benefit programs

  2. Management of Leaves of Absence process and related employee interactions

  3. Development of employment policies and related programs

  4. Interpretation of employment policies

  5. Oversight of immigration case management

  6. Management of Worker’s Compensation policy and administration

  7. Maintains proper documentation on all programs and processes for the purpose of complying with various audit requirements

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Health and Welfare Plans

  • Oversight and development of U.S. and international benefit programs
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements and ensures that all regulatory filings are reported in a timely manner
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure services are delivered as agreed
  • Oversees annual open enrollment process and related communications
  • Recommends benefits programs (and Perks) by assessing employee requirements and overall level of market competitiveness of existing offerings
  • Tracks employee benefit costs, utilization, impact, and value derived
  • Informs employees of benefit programs through information sessions, branded email communications, health fairs, etc.
  • Establishes marketing campaign to regularly remind employees about their benefits
  • Manages STD, LTD coverage
  • Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures
  • Reconciles benefits accounts and billing to ensure accurate record keeping
  • Prepares benefits operational budget; level sets across all of the HL geographies to try to provide similar coverage from a cost perspective
  • Produces management reports to track benefit expenses, utilization, impact of programs

 

2. Leaves Of Absence

  • Manages employee leaves of absence instances communicating requirements and monitoring status
  • Liaises with payroll to ensure proper pay coverage depending on individual circumstances
  • Maintains accurate records as required and liaises with outside vendor on reporting requirements for all active cases

 

3. Immigration

  • Manages immigration matters for the firm
  • Liaises with immigration attorneys on case management
  • Informs business and on overall process and status of individual cases
  • Proactively tracks and manages each situation and provides regulatory bodies with required information as needed

 

4. Employee Policy Development

  • Establishes cadence for review of employee handbook and ensures that content is current and relevant
  • Advances recommendations for new / updated policies that are reflective of changes in the market, employee feedback, changing business requirements
  • Properly researches and socializes recommended changes in policy
  • Establish communications and implementation plans relating to new policies

 

5. Worker’s Compensation

  • Evaluates accident reports ensuring the timely processing of medical bills and disability coverage when applicable
  • Ensures timely completion of worker’s compensation claims
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 8-10 years employee Benefits administration and program management

  • Strongly prefer background in professional / financial services

  • Proactive program management orientation

  • Strong technical knowledge of health and welfare plans, 401K, STD/LTD, and wellness program development

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP / LOCATION

  • The Employee Benefits Program Manager will report to the Group Head of HCG Operations and Business Services

  • Based in Los Angeles, California
