Job Description

Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a full-time Teacher for the Chorus program at Orange County High. The ideal candidate will inspire students through the art of vocal music, fostering their creativity and musical abilities. This role involves teaching various aspects of choral performance, music theory, and vocal techniques, while creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students of all skill levels.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the chorus program, focusing on vocal performance, music theory, and ensemble skills.
- Conduct daily rehearsals, providing instruction and guidance to students in vocal techniques and performance practices.
- Organize and prepare students for performances, including concerts, competitions, and community events.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth in music.
- Collaborate with other music faculty to create interdisciplinary projects and enhance the overall music program.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and program activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and trends in music education.
- Manage administrative tasks related to the chorus program, including scheduling, budgeting, and inventory of musical resources.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in music or related area.
- Proven experience in teaching choral music and conducting ensembles at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, vocal techniques, and a variety of musical genres.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and the community.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love for music in students.
- Experience with technology and tools for music education is a plus.
