Position: Fabrication Superintendent – Tanks & Vessels (20+ Years Experience)

Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Fabrication Superintendent with 20+ years in the field of tank and pressure vessel fabrication. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established company based in Midland, TX, specializing in high-quality steel tank and vessel construction. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong leadership, and a proven track record of overseeing complex fabrication projects from the ground up with an emphasis on first time quality.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day fabrication operations for tank and vessel projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance
- Direct, coordinate, and manage craft personnel and subcontractors on-site
- Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and project specifications to guide fabrication activities
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance with OSHA, company standards, and industry best practices
- Interface with QA/QC, engineering, and project management teams to ensure alignment on deliverables
- Manage materials tracking, production schedules, and workforce allocation
- Drive accountability, productivity, with all foreman to confirm production schedules are met weekly/monthly.
- Resolve fabrication and constructability issues in real-time with practical, field-driven solutions
- Conduct daily safety and planning meetings, reporting progress and issues to management
- Mentor younger foremen and craft workers, instilling a culture of quality and accountability
Qualifications:
- Minimum 20 years of hands-on experience in tank and vessel fabrication, with at least 10 years in a superintendent or similar leadership role
- Proven ability to manage teams and deliver high-quality, code-compliant welded products
- Extensive knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1, API Q1, 12F, 12D, 650/653, and other applicable standards
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to mobilize to project sites as needed
