Summer Internship Opportunity: Trade Compliance (6 Months full-time | Starting June)
Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in an international business environment this summer in Rotterdam, The Netherlands? We are offering an exciting 6-month full-time Summer Internship in Trade Compliance, starting in June, designed to give you valuable exposure to global operations and regulatory practices.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure:
1.Help ensure implementation and enhancement of the trade control and sanctions compliance program globally . Acts as project support for the review for the global program.
2. Help ensure identification and mitigation of trade control and sanctions compliance risks
3. Help ensure compliance with applicable laws including OFAC and similar guidelines.
Conduct:
1. Support Compliance Program Development o Support the enhancement of the Global trade compliance program
- Administer / developing communication for Team Members involved in International trade and Transactions;
- Help establish global trade control guidelines, processes, and other global compliance initiatives;
- Under guidance review export and import processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable trade control regulation;
2. Support Due Diligence activities EUR/ASIA (KYS, KYE & KYC)
- Sanction Risk Classification of Third Parties
- Further enhancement of Trade Control processes
- Development and monitoring of mitigation plans
3. Help support trade and sanctions compliance Operations
- Help advise the business on compliance risks o Support Implementation and enhancement of compliance controls
- Raise awareness through communication and training
4. Support deployment and enhancement Internal controls
- Advice business on internal controls guidelines and drive adaptation
- At request provides active support towards internal and external audit.
Technical / Management Knowledge / Requirements:
- Bachelor recommended, master’s degree desired, e.g. in Trade Compliance, Maritime, Transport, Business Administration or Law
- You are currently enrolled in a study programme in The Netherlands and will remain enrolled for the entire duration of the internship
- Ideally full-time available (we work Hybrid)
- We welcome an active interest or experience in trade compliance or related areas (ABC, AML internal audit, risk management, etc.)
- We welcome knowledge of relevant sanctions, import/export controls and trade control laws
- Knowledge of Excel, SAP, Oracle
- Language: English – business fluent other languages desired
