About the Role:

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the facility, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and operational excellence. This position involves overseeing the daily activities of the housekeeping team, ensuring that all cleaning standards and protocols are consistently met or exceeded. The supervisor will coordinate schedules, manage inventory of cleaning supplies, and conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality service. Additionally, the role requires training and mentoring staff to promote a productive and positive work environment. Ultimately, the Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that all areas under their responsibility are maintained to the highest standards, supporting the reputation and smooth operation of the establishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in housekeeping or custodial services, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment usage.
  • Ability to read and understand safety and operational procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
  • Certification in hospitality management or related field.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and scheduling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage conflict effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage inventory control of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping team members to enhance performance, teamwork, and adherence to procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address guest requests, resolve issues promptly, and support overall operational goals.

The Housekeeping Supervisor utilizes strong leadership and interpersonal skills daily to motivate and guide the housekeeping team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
