Responsibilities

We are actively hiring for a Radiology Technologist.

 

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities:

  • Properly utilizes C-arm and other x-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety, comfort and accuracy of x-ray image while assisting physician with imaging procedures
  • Observes required safety precautions by using filtering devices and providing shielding for patients and other individuals in the room with x-ray protective apparel/shields
  • Assures accurate information is available for patients by maintaining records and files
  • Maintains digital imaging equipment and image storage
  • Maintains accurate documentation as indicated by state, federal and accrediting regulations
  • Tests x-ray equipment and protective apparel as indicated by state and federal regulations
  • Knows and practices the principles and procedures of sterile technique
  • Sets up and operates radiation equipment in operating rooms
  • Assists patients with pre and postop procedure x-ray examinations
  • Assists in other duties as needed which include but are not limited to room turnover, housekeeping, restocking, etc.
  • Maintains dress and appearance according to policy standards
  • Participates in performance appraisal process
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information
  • Considers age specific needs in communication
  • Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility
  • Actively participates in staff meetings (review minutes), team meetings, training and daily safety huddle communication
  • Maintains compliance with fire, emergency, blood-borne pathogens, exposure to chemicals, SDS sheets, MERTKA, spill kits, AWAIR program and other emergency and safety precautions as required by center
  • Comply with all SCA and facility policies and procedures
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Radiology Technologist Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Completion of an accredited radiology program.  
  • ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) as required by state. 
  • Successful completion of BLS – CPR Course within 90 days of employment required or documentation of current certification.  

Radiology Technologist/ Radiographer Preferred:

  • Certification in radiation technology is preferred.
