    Elementary School Administrative Intern - Willow Brook Elementary School - 2026-2027 School Year

    Position Type:
    The administrative intern supports students and staff and develops building-level administrative skills by assisting and collaborating with the building and district administrative team.  The administrative intern engages with building leadership responsibilities, building management tasks, works with students based on the procedures outlined in the Pattonville School District Behavior Guide, assists with certified and support staff related matters, as well as other duties as assigned.
    The elementary administrative intern role is organized as a two to three-year position and is intended to develop and support the leadership and growth of aspiring building principals along with supporting students and staff.  Unless the administrative intern position is extended at a specific school location beyond a two to three-year cycle, the administrative intern will return to an open classroom position within the Pattonville School District at the conclusion of the internship. The administrative intern functions as a member of the Pattonville School District administrative team.

    Salary Structure/Work Schedule:

    • 260-day administrative contract scheduled in consultation with the supervising administrator and the human resources center
      • Administrative salary based on the intern's placement on the 2026-27 Pattonville School District certified staff salary schedule plus $8,000 in additional compensation.
        • The administrative intern will annually advance in salary based on the certified staff salary schedule model with the additional compensation ($8,000) increasing proportionally based on the annual administrative salary increase percentage.  Administrative intern salary advancement is based on effective performance in the position.
    • Five vacation days scheduled in consultation with supervising administrator
    • Sick leave (Policy GCBC-R-1), Family and Bereavement and Critical Leave (GCBC-R-2)
    • The human resources center will pay for professional membership dues for administrative interns up to $350.00 annually.

       

     Desired Candidate Qualifications: 

    • Missouri teacher certification and three or more successful years of teaching experience
    • Possesses or presently be enrolled in a Master's degree in educational administration program
    • Must hold a Missouri administrative certification by the start of the second semester of the second year in the position



    Position Description/Responsibilities:

    • Supports the establishment of an effective learning climate
    • Contributes to the design, coordination, and implementation of professional development learning and programming
    • Supports the improvement of teaching and learning at the school
    • Regularly attends and supervises evening school functions
    • Provides guidance and mentoring for certified and support staff provide and helps maintain an environment where optimal student and staff growth can take place
    • Works with students and families to address group/individual student learning plans
    • *Evaluates and supports assigned certified and support staff members
    • Commits to work hours necessary to meet established goals for school improvement
    • Supports the implementation of school operational policies and procedures
    • Collects, maintains, and reports data regarding students as required
    • Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations/guidelines
    • Administers safety, security, and emergency policies and procedures
    • Communicates with parents/guardians concerning student educational programming
    • Prepares and maintains various written reports
    • Effectively and constructively communicates with members of the school community

       

    Additional Duties:

    • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal and/or district administration

    *The administrative intern will receive training and be qualified to supervise and evaluate support staff.  The administrative intern will receive training and be qualified to supervise and evaluate certified staff upon obtaining a Missouri administrative certificate.
