Duties

Serves as senior subject matter expert and provide staff level advice and technical expertise on implementing policies, identifying recurring problems and trends and analyzing specific transportation issues.,Plans, directs, and implements the transportation management program in one of Transportation's Regional Teams.,Coordinates and implements transportation management services which meet all regulatory and technical/administrative requirements for a wide variety of contracts and commodities.,Utilizes extensive transportation and contract knowledge to justify agency policies, obtain resources, and negotiate with contractors to ensure compliance.,Acts as the liaison between management, legal representatives, government contractors, military program managers, and various buying activities.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Traffic Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing transportation carrier performance, logistical and regulatory issues (e.g., hazardous materials, outsized cargo). Evaluating and resolving transportation related operational issues and coordinating solutions across teams, departments, or functional areas. Creating and putting into practice transportation policies and standard operating procedures. Leading or coordinating a team responsible for transportation or logistics functions, including providing technical guidance and subject-matter expertise.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
