Deputy Fire Marshal Sandy Location Fire Investigation Fire Prevention
Principal Duties:
As a Deputy Fire Marshal you will will perform the following duties within an assigned geographic area to include:
-Determine cause and origin of fires
-Conduct investigations
-Prepare technical reports
-Assist in prosecution of criminal charges
-Review, approve and deny architectural and engineering plans for fire code compliance
-Inspect and test fire protection systems
-Inspect, approve and deny new and existing structures for compliance with codes and standards
-Provide technical assistance
-Develop and conduct training
-Inspection of new and existing structures for code compliance
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: -Must be a able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing) -Complete and successfully pass a Level III background (investigation, polygraph, medical, drug and psychological exams) -Current Utah Fire Inspector I certification; or Investigator I certification; or POST certification; Peace Officer Standards Training in Utah -Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA53-3-202(1)(a). -Live within 50 miles of Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: -Fire Plans Examiner certification
