SUMMARY

 The Engineer NPMM provides the technical expertise to assure that parts, components, and services used on the South Texas Project meet current design requirements. Performs technical reviews of piece parts for non-safety, augmented quality and safety related applications, performs computer search for stocked parts, reviews, and updates stock requisitions, responds to vendor exceptions to technical requirements and disposition material discrepancies, evaluates and approves/rejects administrative part changes and reviews and implements Commercial Grade Dedication packages.

 

Spec Engineer/Engineer I NPMM


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution or related fields. (Required)
  • Without the above degree, 5 years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or Inventory Management may be considered.


EXPERIENCE

  • No experience is required.


LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • There is no Certification or Licensure Listed


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs technical reviews of piece parts for non-safety, augmented quality and safety related applications, performs computer search for stocked parts, reviews and updates stock requisitions, responds to vendor exceptions to technical requirements, disposition material discrepancies.

  • Research drawings, manuals, spare parts list, material specifications, and design reports.
  • Evaluates and approves or rejects administrative part changes and reviews and implements Commercial Grade Dedication packages.
  • Assists in the review of vendor submitted drawings, bill of materials, manuals, catalogs and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a cost effective and accurate spare parts inventory.
  • Assists in the review of engineering changes for impact to inventory and work orders.
  • Assists in review of site and industry Operational Experience for impact to inventory and work orders.
  • Supports requirements of Corrective Action Program (CAP).

Spec Engineer/Engineer Staff NPMM


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution or related fields. (Required)
  • Without the above degree, 5 years’ additional experience in systems engineering, design engineering or Inventory Management may be considered.

  • 8 Years experience in systems engineering, design engineering or Inventory Management. (Required)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 Provides training to the Engineer/Specialist and contributes to section budget and business plan.

  • Manages large projects to meet department and STP goals.
  • Performs technical reviews of piece parts for non-safety, augmented quality and safety related applications, performs computer search for stocked parts, reviews and updates stock requisitions.
  • Responds to vendor exceptions to technical requirements and disposition material discrepancies.
  • Develops and maintains a cost effective and accurate spare parts inventory.
  • Evaluates and approves or rejects administrative part changes.
  • Performs staff-level engineering activities.
  • Assists in review of site and industry Operational Experience for impact to inventory and work orders.
  • Supports requirements of Corrective Action Program (CAP).




SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
  • Support Plant Improvement Project and other meetings as required.


Environmental & Physical Requirements

  • Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
  • Travel may be required.
  • May be required to carry a phone.


WORK LOCATION

  • Due to the nature of the work, this position provides the ability for a hybrid work schedule between Site and an alternate work location. Alternate work locations require adequate technology and that a solid ergonomic setup is present. Note: Work schedules are contingent on business need.
