Job Description:
Your Impact in This Role
As part of the Commercial Team you will be the co-owner of the cluster P&L and the primary responsible for ensuring the implementation and execution of Sibelco’s commercial and growth strategy and manage the overall sales and marketing activities for the cluster. Together with the Cluster Operations Director, you'll be an integral part of the cluster management team.
The Cluster Commercial Director will drive the cluster sales to achieve maximum profitable growth and sales objectives (volume, NS and GM) in line with Sibelco’s vision, strategic objectives and policies
He/she aims to achieve these objectives both for goods produced in the cluster (‘sales by origin’), as well as goods sold in the cluster (‘sales by destination’).
In the role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
P&L Delivery
Co-own the P&L for goods both sold within the clusters geographical region (sales by destination), as well as goods produced within the cluster but sold outside of his/her cluster geographical region (sales by origin).
Develop and implement the cluster tactical marketing and Comm Ex plans in the geographical area of responsibility, in collaboration with other internal Sibelco functions (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing & Comm Ex).
Be accountable for the delivery of the sales budget in the cluster (volume, revenue and GM) – taking on a ‘sales manager hat’ when needed
Be responsible to manage and lead Customer Service to grant the right level of Service to customers while optimizing the organization
To network with Business Development and Key Account European functions to identify, develop and promote new products in new markets.
People Management
Lead, motivate, manage and develop the cluster commercial teams (e.g., sales managers, product marketing managers) to increase effectiveness and deliver on cluster commercial objectives. Resources the team appropriately.
Commercial Excellence
Drive commercial excellence (e.g., pricing, sales force effectiveness) in the cluster, and in line with key Sibelco commercial processes and standards. Establish and maintain a continuous improvement culture, monitor and analyze the company’s systems and processes, identify potential areas of improvement and formulate improvement concepts, in order to ensurecustomer satisfaction and safe, ecological and efficient processes in full compliance with the applicable rules and standards.
Strategy
Provide input to to develop the cluster strategy, as well as support the subregion VP Commercial on commercial matters requiring cluster inputs/execution.
Change Management
Lead the change activities within the cluster, together with the Director Operations cluster (reorganization, integration, performance studies, new way of working, M&A, etc…)
Health & Safety
Improve overall HSE performance, ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements and implement Sibelco’s internal standards, in order to develop a strong safety culture in the cluster.
Take accountability for all aspects of HSE in the cluster by managing the managers to meet the requirements of their the legal responsibility for HSE
(comply fully with the terms of the permit to operate etc.)
Ensure cluster compliance with all applicable process and personnel safety and sustainability requirements.
Accountable for compliance with environmental legislation, policies and standards.
Contribute to the development of the global internal HSE standards of the Sibelco Group
Contribute to the well-being and improvement of general working conditions in the Cluster.
Compliance
Ensure full compliance with the highest business standards, while conducting business for Sibelco, to enable the critical demonstration of compliance.
Identify compliance risks and act on / initiate action to manage such risks.
Manage - in close cooperation with the functional specialists and other members of cluster and sub-regional operations leadership – the legacy liabilities and avoid new liabilities.
Stay up-to-date about the terms applicable in the cooperation with the suppliers, and signal timely when adaptation of those terms needed in order to keep meeting the company’s compliance standards.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor degree in Economics, Marketing or Business. Master level preferred
Multiple years prior experience in sales role in an international, multifunction environment
Sales experience in the mineral industry is a plus
Experience in Supply Chain is a plus
English – proficient verbal & writing
Local language of the country (Turkish) of base and main operations – proficient verbal & writing
Other languages are an asset
