Job Description

CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION SEASONAL CLERICAL  

PURPOSE 

The Curriculum & Instruction Seasonal Clerical supports the department with instructional materials, organization, and project support. This is a temporary, hourly paid summer position with fluctuating weekly hours (hours will vary from week to week based on when curriculum materials are received and individual project timelines). 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 

The primary function of this position is to assist with instructional support tasks, material preparation, and organizational projects. Work is performed under the supervision of Curriculum staff in an office or school environment, following District policies and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

Student Intern – Curriculum Responsibilities 

  • Assist with organizing and inventorying curriculum materials and instructional resources; 
  • Support preparation and distribution of materials for trainings and summer programs; 
  • Assist with formatting documents, presentations, and instructional resources; 
  • Input and manage data related to curriculum and instructional materials; 
  • Support staff with research and organization of instructional content; 
  • Help maintain accurate records and filing systems; 
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support; 
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and district information; 
  • Perform all duties in accordance with District policies, safety guidelines, and workplace expectations. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Knowledge of: 
Basic office software (Google Docs, Word, Excel); 
Organizational systems and file management; 

Ability to: 
Follow instructions and complete tasks independently; 
Maintain attention to detail; 
Communicate effectively; 
Work collaboratively; 
Manage time effectively. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties. 

Access to transportation between school district buildings. 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES 

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively on the telephone and in person;  

Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions and review and prepare documents and file them in a prescribed order, and organize documents and materials;    

Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate a personal computer and other office equipment;  

Sufficient personal mobility, agility, strength and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to work at a keyboard for an extended period of time, move up to 25 pounds and work in an office environment.
