- Must be an experienced swimmer, preferred lifeguard/swim instructor experience
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Ability to use hand tools or machines specific to pool maintenance work.
Ability to communicate and demonstrate basic swimming strokes and techniques.
Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at aquatics facilities to determine any potential dangers or hazards.
Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds.
Available to work shifts.
Monitors swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Provides skill-based swim and water safety instruction for varying ages.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
Performs various maintenance duties as to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under supervision, ensures the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Also provides skill-based swim and water safety instruction.
