Job Description
:

PM Group are seeking a skilled and proactive CAD Support Engineer to join our client based CAD Team based on a large facility in Co. Kildare.  The successful candidate will act as the first-line support for the engineering teams, ensuring prompt support and optimizing design workflows, whilst also providing CAD based troubleshooting and support. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and the CAD team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide prompt, hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for CAD software and hardware issues.
  • System Optimization: Monitor CAD system performance and configure workstations/servers to improve efficiency and speed.
  • Drawing Data Management: Assist in maintaining drawing data management systems, ensuring data integrity, proper revision control, and accessibility.
  • Workflow Standardization: Develop, document, and champion best practice processes and workflows to enhance CAD user productivity.
  • User Training: Create technical documentation, end-user guides, and provide targeted training or mentoring to engineering staff.
  • Installation & Deployment: Handle the installation, configuration, and local distribution of CAD applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Ideally have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a CAD Support role with experience working on large scale complex engineering projects.
  • Software Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of major CAD software (AutoCAD / BIM)
  • Support Experience: Proven experience in a technical support role and troubleshooting workstations.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of Windows PC environments, IT infrastructure, and data management principles.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to quickly triage and resolve issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for training and documentation purposes.
