Job Description

Melling Granite is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Managers in the successful completion of residential and commercial countertop projects.

We fabricate and install natural stone, engineered stone, and porcelain countertops, and our projects require coordination between customers, contractors, cabinet makers, templaters, fabricators, and installers. The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in helping keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, problem solving, and managing lots of moving parts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of countertop projects
  • Help track project timelines from bid through installation
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, and vendors regarding scheduling and project updates
  • Assist with ordering materials and verifying job details
  • Help ensure all job information is accurate before templating and fabrication
  • Maintain project files, notes, and documentation
  • Follow up on outstanding items to keep projects moving forward
  • Help identify and resolve project issues quickly and professionally
  • Support the Project Manager with whatever is needed to ensure successful project completion

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to think ahead
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools)
  • Construction or construction-related experience is helpful but not required
  • Full Time in office job
