Golf Concession Attendant
Summary: Under supervision, the Golf Concession Attendant will perform essential operational functions in accordance with the standard operating procedures of both the Columbia Association and the Sport and Fitness Department. The Golf Concession Attendant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while providing food and beverage service to our customers. This position involves frequent public interaction and manual labor with exposure to various weather conditions including sun, rain, heat, snow, and cold. The Golf Concession Attendant responds to customers’ needs to enhance the experience at Hobbits Glen. Attendant is knowledgeable of all golf programs offered and assists in the promotion of programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performs all duties in accordance with the Columbia Association mission, vision, and values
2. Be consistently punctual and available to work on scheduled dates/times.
3. Projects a positive image of Columbia Association through professional appearance, language, and behavior
4. Performs simple food preparation and serves food and drinks at the Hobbits Glen Snack Bar and Beverage Cart. Facilitates a friendly, hospitable environment on the turn. Ensures quality of product and service with intent to provide the highest level of member and guest satisfaction, anticipating their wants and needs.
5. Learns and remembers members’ names and preferences.
6. Stays familiar with, and accurately describes menu items and their preparation. Ensures accuracy of orders and that they meet Turnhouse quality standards.
7. Performs Snack Bar opening and closing procedures.
8. Processes sales through the Point of Sale system. Completes transactions and closing paperwork accurately and timely. Ensures chit charges are accurate and settled to the correct account.
9. Addresses members’ concerns immediately and to their satisfaction. Communicates any problems and potential issues to management.
10. Organizes snack bar inventory and carry out necessary stocking and replenishment duties (snacks, drinks and ice in the beverage cart)
11. Requisitions items as needed and notifies the F&B department of expected shortages in a timely manner.
12. Ensures sanitation standards are met in the Snack Bar area.
13. Assists with special events as designated by the General Manager.
14. Performs other duties as designated by the General Manager and senior management.
15. Be knowledgeable about Columbia Association programs and amenities
16. Shows genuine care for our guests by owning and swiftly resolving their concerns
17. Builds meaningful relationships by delivering a memorable and fun guest experience
18. Proactively address the expressed and unexpressed wishes of our guests
19. Be receptive and responsive to all forms of constructive feedback
20. Fosters a cooperative environment by setting fellow team members up for success and choosing a positive attitude at work
21. Be consistently prompt in responding to internal communication efforts
22. Promotes a hospitable environment by greeting everyone with a smile and practicing Columbia Association’s 6/12 rule.
23. Ensures team member and guest adherence to club safety procedures and immediately report any incidents to supervisor
24. Exercises adaptability to change and capitalizes on available training opportunities
25. Stays updated on daily course developments and communicate consistent, thorough information to customers
26. Attends staff meetings when required; Carries out necessary stocking and replenishment duties (snacks, drinks and ice in the beverage cart)
27. Communicates with front desk staff and outside services.
28. Knows all rules and enforce them • Records and reports all complaints to the Assistant General Manager.
The candidate must achieve (at minimum) the following:
Within 30 days of hire:
● Complete CATO (Columbia Association Training Orientation)
● Attend and complete all three modules of Introduction to Service Excellence
Within 90 days of hire:
● Obtain CPR/AED/BBP and First Aid certification
● Complete Columbia Association Compliance Essentials LMS online course Requirements: Candidates must meet the following requirements:
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Must possess a valid driver’s license
● Must be able to provide an average of 18 hours of weekly working availability during the working season (April 1st - October 31st) within the Golf Division
● Possess strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
● Ability to utilize telephones, computers, Microsoft Windows and Office products, email, and the internet.
● Ability to effectively handle a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced, stressful work environment
● Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Preferred candidates offer the following:
● Previous job experience in the golf industry and/or in a customer service capacity
● Familiarity with the golf industry and terminology
● TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) certified. Physical Demands of Job:

● Ability to bend and reach
● Ability to lift and carry items up to 35 pounds
