Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs daily activities of the hospital maintenance department.
- Ensures department is staffed appropriately, including on-call coverage, to ensure the needs of the facility are met.
- Prioritizes, coordinates, and assigns work through verbal instructions/directions, work requests, and requests from senior management.
- Follows daily work via meetings with workers to ensure proper installation, repairs, and equipment operations exist.
- Monitor’s routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure utilities, environmental systems and other building systems operate properly and efficiently.
- Maintains records of routine services as required by the State, insurance companies, and other agencies (i.e. fire alarm testing, sprinkler testing, air/water testing, electrical safety testing, etc.)
- Ensures all inspections are completed and documented as required.
- Budgets appropriately for new equipment and renovation projects.
- Obtains 3 bids and RFPs as required.
- Confers with department directors and employees with regards to the Safety program.
- Gives proper notification of upcoming disruption in utilities and other services.
- Executes general and special assignments in the field of plant engineering matters.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of Plant Operations experience required in a hospital setting preferred
- 3+ years of Supervisory experience preferred.
- 2+ years experience of TJC, CMS, life safety, federal, state, and local laws concerning facility operations.
