Position Overview:
Fennville Community Recreation is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Nutrition Instructor to lead
educational sessions focused on healthy eating, lifestyle habits, and practical nutrition strategies. The
ideal candidate is passionate about wellness, able to communicate information in a clear and
approachable way, and committed to helping participants make informed, realistic choices.
Qualifications
• Current Nutrition certification
(200-hour RYT or equivalent
preferred)
• Experience teaching Nutrition
classes preferred
• Strong understanding of anatomy,
alignment, and movement
principles
• Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and engage
participants of all fitness levels
• CPR/First Aid certification
(preferred or willingness to obtain)
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead nutrition education
classes for community participants
• Present topics such as balanced eating, meal
planning, reading nutrition labels, hydration, and
healthy habits
• Provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance
tailored to a general audience
• Create an engaging, interactive, and supportive
learning environment
• Adapt content to meet the needs and interests of
participants of varying ages and backgrounds
• Answer general nutrition questions while
maintaining appropriate professional scope
• Communicate effectively with participants
and program staff
• Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled
classes

Preferred Skills:
• Degree or coursework in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field
• Experience teaching in community recreation, studio, or wellness settings
• Ability to create handouts, presentations, or simple educational materials
• Experience tailoring content for different age groups or skill levels
