    FTE:1.0 FTE (189 Teacher Contract with additional days based on district need)


    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    1. Wisconsin teaching certification in secondary education
    2. A master's degree (preferred)
    3. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
    4. Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
    5. Ability to perform the duties of a sensitive and confidential nature.


    REPORTS TO: Building Principal

    SUPERVISES: Supervises, does not evaluate, assistants.  Supervises all students in unstructured areas such as hallways, cafeteria, and playground

    JOB GOAL: To ensure a positive and supportive learning environment for all students, encompassing academic, social, and behavioral well-being.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
     

    1. Assist the building Principal in establishing a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes.
    2. Serves as an integral leader in the building climate, culture, and student experience.
    3. Attend parent/community meetings, board meetings, school meetings and make presentations as appropriate.
    4. Support the Leadership Team for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the strategic plan.
    5. Effectively manage student discipline issues in cooperation with Principals, Teachers, and Special Education Staff.
    6. Communicate effectively with the educational community, parents, and supplemental agencies, as necessary. Provide information to families regarding educational expectations of specific programs, such as homework, grading policies, school handbook, and parent conferences.
    7. Work collaboratively with Associate Principal as well as other staff & parents in regard to student attendance.
    8. Provide prompt classroom support to teachers when requested; follow established protocols for addressing students who demonstrate problem behaviors via building "discipline matrix" and student/parent handbook.
    9. Proactively circulates and is present and highly visible in the school's common spaces during school hours (including student arrival and departure) to maintain a safe, orderly, and pro-learning school environment.
    10. Serve on the school's Shared Leadership Team (SLT) to assist with case studies and monitor the performance and behavior of students identified as potentially needing additional support.
    11. MLSS Leadership & Student Support
    12. Work closely with Lake Shore Bus Company, and bus drivers, to address bus behavior issues.
    13. Participate in Professional Development activities as required by the position.
    14. Coordinate or assist in supporting other student programs, extra-curricular activities and clubs.
    15. Attend school functions, curricular, and co-curricular activities as often as possible or as requested by the Principal.
    16. Serve as the authority in charge during the absence of the Principal and Associate Principal.
    17. Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
    18. Serves as an integral leader in the building climate, culture, and student experience.
