Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Management Engineer is involved in a variety of duties focused on design engineering and guiding the success of STOBER products. They will work in a professional, productive, and collaborative team that understands how STOBER products work and ensures the products meet or exceed customer expectations while providing peace of mind. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work in a safe manner 100% of the time. 
  • Set a positive example of performance, responsibility, tact, and professionalism. 
  • Work closely with the team leader to document technical and quality elements.
  • Prepare 2D/3D drawings, using accepted GD&T standards, for customers and suppliers.
  • Review manufacturing deviations and refine designs for manufacturability, while collaborating with quality department for preventative resolutions.
  • Execute assigned tasks assuring timely completion.
  • Collaborate with application engineering department to verify advanced sizing and calculations, utilizing industry tools.
  • Responsible for Gantt chart task and leading teams to get the assigned projects complete.
  • Knowledge of all product lines, specifications, components, assembly, advantages & disadvantages.
  • Strong SolidWorks skills to create rendered models and simulation for sales and Marketing.
  • Build and test prototypes to evaluate performance, reliability, and safety, often using tools like 3D Printing as well as FEA.
  • Determine appropriate materials and manufacturing processes when designing products.
  • Analyze field failures and customer feedback to improve existing products.
  • Utilize tools and performance metrics to ensure product and lifecycle health. 
  • Good understanding of VFDs, PLCs, wiring diagrams, and their applications within mechatronic systems. 
  • Work directly with internal and external customers to provide solutions. 
  • Observe company policies related to dress, appearance, attendance, employment, etc.
  • Coach and develop team members.
  • Maintain email, phone, chat, and interpersonal communication etiquette.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.
