Job Description

Toromont Cat is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our team in Concord, ON. In this role, you will provide independent, objective assurance that internal controls and policy‑related practices are properly designed and operating effectively. You will collaborate with business process owners across the organization to support key controls, plan and execute audit programs, and maintain strong, respectful communication with management and departments under review.

Compensation

$78,705.00 - $98,379.00

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviors at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Execute business unit audits throughout the organization in accordance with the Company’s audit framework and methodology as well as generally accepted auditing standards
  • Review, evaluate and document internal control systems and compliance with Company Policy and Procedures
  • Identify and recommend process and control improvements to management through effective communication and report writing
  • Assist with the development and updating of audit programs
  • Provide and present audit findings clearly, concisely and timely to appropriate levels of management
  • Assist the Manager and Director with approaches to remediate control deficiencies
  • Maintain working papers in accordance with NI-52-109 guidelines
  • Assist the Manager or Director with the execution of special projects and consulting assignments
  • Provide coaching and continuous feedback to internal auditors

Must-haves for this role:

  • Post-Secondary Education with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA, CA Designation (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English (French is considered an asset)
  • In addition to the above designation, a CIA or CISA designation would be an asset
  • Experience with process evaluation would be an asset
  • 5+ years’ experience in internal or external audit
  • Able to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Safety conscious with excellent skills for business report writing
  • Detailed analytical and problem solving skills
  • High integrity and initiative with solid business and financial acumen
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated, well-organized with the ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong computer literacy with knowledge of IT and financial system operations or IT auditing will be an advantage, including SAP
  • Willing and able to travel (30%-40%) and work flexible hours in support of business needs.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
