Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Endocrinologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, and metabolic bone diseases.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
    • Provide comprehensive care to patients with endocrine disorders, including history taking, physical examination, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans.
    • Manage patients with diabetes, including education on lifestyle modifications, medication management, and insulin therapy.
    • Diagnose and treat thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid nodules.
    • Evaluate and manage pituitary disorders, such as growth hormone deficiency, Cushing's syndrome, and prolactinomas.
    • Diagnose and treat adrenal disorders, including Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency.
    • Manage patients with metabolic bone diseases, such as osteoporosis and osteomalacia.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Education:
    • Educate patients and their families about their endocrine conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in endocrinology through continuing medical education and participation in professional conferences.
  • Administrative:
    • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.
    • Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Training:
    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
    • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
  • Certification and Licensure:
    • Board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM).
    • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York.
