Job Description

The Awty International School seeks a full-time Secondary (Grades 6-9) English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The school is looking for an experienced, hands-on teacher who interacts with students in a creative manner and can take complex concepts to a level the students will comprehend. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to teaching in a diverse, multicultural environment.

 

The position will be full time (20 instructional periods per week, plus other assigned duties) and eligible for benefits.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • BA or equivalent in English and/or Education
  • Experience teaching ESL or EAL in a Secondary School setting
  • Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States

Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience writing/adapting curriculum for EAL learners
  • Experience with sheltered English instructional programs
  • Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French preferred)
