The Site Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the Greater Newark Area serves as the primary HR strategic partner and point of contact for employees and leaders across the Chemours Discovery Hub (CDH), Experimental Station (ESL), and Elkton sites. This role partners closely with leadership across all three business units, with a strong emphasis on supporting the Technology function within an R&D environment.

The HRBP provides both day-to-day employee support and strategic HR consultation to managers, directors, and Vice Presidents. The role owns end-to-end talent processes for assigned technology organizations, delivers employee relations expertise, and partners cross-functionally to drive engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the site-level owner of HR delivery for the Greater Newark Area, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high‑quality HR support across CDH, ESL, and Elkton.
  • Partner with site and technology leaders to support workforce and talent needs, providing input on organization effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent risk within an R&D environment.
  • Provide proactive guidance to technical leaders on complex HR matters, balancing employee experience, business outcomes, and risk mitigation.
  • Own and execute all end-to-end talent processes for assigned technology organizations, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and development.
  • Lead employee relations case management, including investigations, performance issues, corrective actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes.
  • Coach and develop leaders on effective people management, feedback delivery, employee engagement, and navigating sensitive or high-impact employee situations.
  • Partner closely with Health Services and Benefits teams to manage disability, leave, and accommodation cases, ensuring coordination, compliance, and employee support.
  • Support staffing and recruiting efforts by partnering with hiring managers and recruiters on workforce planning, requisitions, candidate selection, and job design to meet current and future capability needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across people processes, manager capability, and employee experience by identifying gaps, simplifying workflows, and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and cross-functional partners (HRIS, Payroll, Legal, Finance) to deliver integrated HR solutions and support organizational change initiatives

The following is required for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree or 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelors
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices as well as labor and employment law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with confidential data and maintain confidentiality
  • Self-motivated: Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • A great listener with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks under demanding time constraints and set appropriate priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and solve problems

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Knowledge of Workday and Kronos systems
  • Strong writing skills, experience with policy writing
  • Good networking and resourcing skills
  • Masters Degree in HR

$85,801.00 - $134,064.00

Annual Bonus Target:

6%
