The AE Trainee is responsible for assessing risk by analyzing the type of industry, financial stability, claims experience and overall composition of the group to determine if it is an acceptable risk for the Co-operators based on our overall company strategy regarding retention, growth and risk appetite. They work in a team environment with a focus to maintaining a profitable book of business and provide superior client service. This position is responsible for both pooled financial accounting and Administrative Only (ASO) accounting arrangements; of groups 3 to 250 lives with total premium up to $500,000
This is a 12-18 month training program to become a group benefit account executive position where you will learn the underwriting fundamentals such as reviewing quote information provided by the broker, third party administrator and advisor and MGA and renewing existing businesses. After the training program ends, you will be responsible to attract new distribution partners, clients, cross-sell clients and increase revenue from existing clients/advisors within Group Benefits Sales.

Expected salary range $50,280 - $83,800
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
