Responsible for operating heavy vehicles and equipment to transport, load, move, and position military vehicles, materials, and equipment in support of maintenance activities, storage site operations, and training missions.
- Operates heavy vehicles and equipment, including straight trucks over four tons (typically 10-wheel configurations), to transport equipment, materials, and supplies between maintenance facilities, storage locations, and training sites.
- Loads, unloads, and positions vehicles and heavy equipment using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or similar material-handling equipment in support of maintenance and logistics operations.
- Conducts pre-operation and post-operation inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operating condition and identify maintenance requirements.
- Assists maintenance personnel with equipment movement, positioning vehicles in maintenance bays, storage areas, or staging locations as required for repair or readiness operations.
- Maintains operational logs and transportation documentation, ensuring movements and equipment usage are recorded in accordance with Army and contract requirements.
- Follows all safety, environmental, and operational procedures in accordance with Army regulations, shop work instructions, and contractor safety programs.
