Job Description Summary:

The Distribution Specialist drives distribution channel performance and sales growth by providing data-driven analysis to optimize network decisions, pricing, and competitive positioning. This role works closely with regional distribution managers, operations, finance, and engineering to develop sales pipelines, deliver POS, inventory, and bookings reports, and create product profiles that support order budgets and inventory strategy. The specialist prepares materials for business reviews and internal operations, manages contractual return administration and discrepancy resolution, coordinates distribution training programs and systems, and supports service requests with engineering. By optimizing product offerings, aligning inventory to market demand, and maximizing POS performance, the Distribution Specialist ensures the strategy is dynamic and responsive. Strong analytical skills, distribution channel experience, advanced Excel/ERP proficiency, excellent communication, and the ability to influence cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment are essential for strengthening channel performance and supporting the company's overall growth objectives.

 

This position is hybrid in Endicott, NY.

Duties/Responsibilities :

 

Channel Strategy & Pricing

  • Analyze channel network and pricing structures to inform and optimize distribution decisions.
  • Identify competitive advantages and provide recommendations for strategic adjustments.
  • Ensure that channel strategies directly support business growth objectives.

 

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze monthly POS, inventory, and bookings reports and identify actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Prepare data and analysis for quarterly business reviews with distribution partners.
  • Develop content for operational reviews, budgets, and strategic planning meetings.

 

Inventory & Product Profiling

  • Create quarterly product profiles to ensure inventory is aligned with market demand.
  • Recommend optimal inventory positions across channels and SKUs to maximize availability and sales.
  • Track POS versus bookings to detect and resolve stock imbalances proactively.

 

Partner & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Regional Distribution Sales Managers to support any opportunity.
  • Participate in internal meetings to align priorities and drive channel initiatives.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, sales, finance) to ensure execution.

 

Training & Systems Coordination

  • Coordinate the creation and delivery of distribution training materials, programs, and systems.
  • Ensure ERP/CRM tools and reporting systems effectively support distribution workflows and goals.
  • Deliver training and enablement sessions for both partners and internal stakeholders.

 

Returns & Service Coordination

  • Oversee contractual return processes and resolve discrepancies with distributors.
  • Facilitate service requests with engineering to address field issues and customer needs.
  • Maintain proper documentation and processes to meet internal standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications - Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of the Amphenol Distribution network
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and data analysis
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and computer usage
  • Ability to travel (10%)
