Child Nutrition Site Supervisor
The position of a Child Nutrition Site Supervisor will be available immediately at East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. POSITION FUNCTION AND PURPOSE: Supervises operations of the school cafeteria. Provides support to cafeteria managers in identifying problems and
recommending solutions in food production, personnel supervision and regulation compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Communicate and ensure compliance with District and departmental policies to cafeteria managers and
employees.
2. Enforce regulations regarding Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave and Workers'
Compensation.
3. Review cash handling and deposit procedures.
4. Monitor recordkeeping and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and policies.
5. Monitor procedures to better utilize kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions and recommend
replacements.
6. Direct, evaluate, and counsel cafeteria managers and staff.
7. Monitor and approve the time and attendance of employees on a weekly basis.
8. Monitor services and merchandising techniques to increase student meal participation.
9. Support District goals for student and staff wellness initiatives.
10. Address parent concerns and suggestions with regard to meal programs and policies.
11. Participate in departmental workshops and manager meetings.
12. Participate in regional and state professional development opportunities through Region 20 and Texas
Association for School Nutrition.
13. Ensure kitchen operations are in compliance with all safety and HACCP/sanitation regulations.
14. Meet with school administration to discuss issues related to the school meal program and staff.
15. Attend staff meetings and other committee meetings as assigned.
16. Manages 7 subordinate managers who supervise a total of 40 to 75 employees in the School Cafeterias.
17. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
18. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
18. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
19. Maintain confidentiality of information.
20. Report to work on time every day.
21. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in the use of a computer and knowledge and ability to use and/or learn to use Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, Power Point, and Word Processing Software
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with employees at all levels
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and detail-oriented
Above average proficiency in the use of a computer, ability to use the Internet, email, and Microsoft Office software
Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends to provide requested services
Ability to acquire and maintain food handler certification
Must maintain required hours per Professional Standards guidelines (6 hours annually)
Valid Texas Driver's License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of quantity food production including preparation and service, storage, sanitation, and safety
Knowledge of menu planning to meet nutritional esthetics and psychological needs of students
Knowledge of application, care, and maintenance of food service equipment
Knowledge of principles and practices for supervision and training
Knowledge of record-keeping techniques
Basic knowledge of nutrition as it applies to school-age children
Strong oral and written communication skills
Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Must occasionally move and/or lift up to forty pounds. Is regularly required to drive personal vehicles in the performance of assigned tasks. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Be able to lift and move 50lbs. Exposure to biological hazards. Frequent district wide travel: occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 226-day basis
