This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
Role Purpose
The role leads pricing strategy and margin optimization across Castrol’s EV fluids, thermal lubricants, and services portfolio. It shapes commercially sound pricing frameworks, strengthens margin delivery, and ensures Castrol captures value in rapidly evolving markets. Success relies on strategic pricing expertise, customer insight, competitive intelligence, and effective cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement pricing strategies for EV, thermal, and services categories that support competitive positioning and margin growth.
Create value‑based pricing models for new products and service propositions in partnership with product, technology, marketing, and brand teams.
Conduct price‑to‑margin analysis to identify value leakage and opportunities for improvement across markets, channels, and SKUs.
Use market research, competitor intelligence, and trend analysis to guide pricing decisions and anticipate market shifts.
Apply customer segmentation and customer‑centric thinking to design pricing structures aligned with customer needs and behaviours.
Support proposition development and offer execution, ensuring pricing contributes to a seamless customer experience.
Apply Retail Category Management principles to optimize product and service portfolios.
Build and maintain pricing frameworks, tools, and processes that strengthen governance and data‑driven decision‑making.
Explore and assess innovative pricing models, including subscription, outcome‑based, and service‑contract approaches.
Communicate pricing strategies and insights clearly to stakeholders, enabling informed commercial decisions.
Promote agile ways of working, adapting pricing approaches to market conditions and customer feedback.
Develop strong cross‑functional relationships and contribute to building pricing capability across teams, with emphasis on EV and services.
Requirements:
Experience & Capabilities
Strategic pricing and margin optimization expertise.
Ability to interpret complex data and convert insights into practical pricing actions.
Strong commercial judgement and understanding of market and competitive dynamics.
Experience in customer segmentation, customer‑centric design, and proposition development.
Skilled in applying market research to inform strategic decisions.
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders.
Familiarity with brand management and retail category management principles.
Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and comfort working in agile environments.
