Salary Range: $46,008-$83,675
Benefits: The teacher benefits include contributions to health, dental, and life insurance plans, with the district covering a portion of premiums. Sick leave accrues at 12 days annually, with up to 48 hours designated as Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). Unused sick leave is unlimited, while ESST accrues up to 20 days. Additionally, teachers have access to bereavement, jury, military, and unpaid childcare leave along with a matched 403(b) plan and professional development opportunities. Reporting Relationship: The Preschool Instructor reports directly to the Building Principal

East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The district also boasts a thriving Preschool Program and lifelong learning opportunities through Community Education.

Position Summary:
The Preschool Instructor plays a vital role in upholding our long-standing commitment to academic excellence. This position is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe and developmentally appropriate learning space that encourages curiosity, growth, and a love for learning.

Essential Duties:
Essential duties include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with early learning standards, using play-based and hands-on activities to foster curiosity and engagement. The preschool teacher is responsible for creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social-emotional growth, and guiding children in developing essential skills. Maintaining classroom organization and participating in ongoing professional development are also key responsibilities to support effective teaching practices. Additionally, the teacher assesses student progress through observation and documentation, communicates effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues, and ensures compliance with Minnesota state regulations for early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards and best practices.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use play-based and hands-on learning strategies to enhance learning.
• Assess and document student progress, sharing observations with families and staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and licensing requirements.
• Participate in professional development and training.

Qualifications:

• Education: Preference given to candidates with Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Certification: Preference given to candidates with Minnesota teaching license
• Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-age children preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong communication, classroom management, organizational and child development knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
