Inside Sales Representative

Department: Commercial 

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid)

 FLSA Status: Exempt


 Position Summary 

The Inside Sales Representative supports commercial execution and customer engagement across assigned accounts within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Outside Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product & Application Development (P&AD), Operations, and Finance to manage quoting, pricing, forecasting, and customer communication. This position focuses on pricing management, quoting, and commercial coordination. SAP system interaction for this role is focused on pricing management and maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities Sales & Account Support

 • Manage assigned customer accounts by responding to inquiries and preparing quotations

 • Assist Outside Sales with pipeline tracking and customer engagement 

• Support pricing administration and margin tracking 

• Maintain communication with customers regarding availability and timelines

 

Order Alignment & Support 

• Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain to support order visibility and alignment

 • Monitor open orders, shipments, and backorders; proactively communicate potential service disruptions 

• Provide forecast input based on customer demand trends

 • Support commercial alignment across internal teams 


Standard Workflow (SAP/CRM-Aligned) 

• Receive customer inquiry or RFQ

 • Validate specifications and timing with internal stakeholders

 • Coordinate pricing alignment with Sales/Commercial leadership 

• Generate and submit quotations • Manage and maintain pricing in SAP (ECC/S4HANA) to ensure accuracy and alignment with commercial strategy 

• Partner with Customer Service and Supply Chain for order visibility and delivery alignment 

• Track order progress and support resolution of service, pricing, or logistics issues 

• Maintain CRM updates and reporting cadence

 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

 • 2–5 years of experience in inside sales or commercial support 

• Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred 

• SAP and CRM experience preferred
