Salary Range:    $17.00 - $22.00 Hourly

Travel Percentage:    None

Description

















 

At Bell Nursery the Maintenance Technician will help with the overall maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements of our greenhouse facility. This role will perform regular maintenance and repairs of the greenhouse structure, production equipment, plumbing-PVC, and general housekeeping of the building. This is a hands-on role requiring basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on irrigation systems, greenhouse maintenance, and the installation and repair of production equipment.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities




  • Repairs mechanical equipment and machinery used in greenhouse operations

  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant equipment

  • Ensuring functionality and reliability of all mechanical systems

  • Install and maintain new equipment

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and/or electrical issues

  • Assist/organize repairs as needed



 


Qualifications


Skills & Competencies




  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds

  • Ability to drive maintenance equipment



Requirements




  • General, if not better than average knowledge of power equipment, electric, and plumbing

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem solving

  • Works well in both a team environment and independently

  • Adjusts to changing conditions and willingness to work off-shifts

  • Available for On Call Emergencies

  • Bilingual a Plus
