Job Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The department supports clinical care and career development in multiple disciplines, including general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and neuromodulation including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

 

The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting for an Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The final rank and title of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Clinical supervision, mentoring, preceptorships and training of medical students, psychiatry residents and clinical fellows in mental health related fields.
  • Formal and informal lectures on research design, mood disorders, psychopharmacology and curriculum evaluations.
  • Clinical research as principal investigator, co-investigator, and/or sub-investigator in NIH and industry funded studies.
  • Clinical evaluations, diagnostic assessments, standardized psychometric evaluations, treatment and follow-up of adults with mood and psychotic disorders as incidental to research.
  • Train and supervise research assistants, postgraduate students, and nurses in clinical research protocols. 
  • Opportunity for administrative and leadership roles, participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.

 

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the effective date of appointment, must have all of the following:

 

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO), or equivalent.
  • Ohio Clinical Research Faculty Certificate.
  • Completion of 48 months of residency/traiing in Psychiatry.

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
