Summary
Canyon Ridge High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head C Team Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the sport, a commitment to developing student-athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that enhance player skills and team performance.
- Conduct tryouts and select team members based on skill level, attitude, and potential for growth.
- Provide instruction on volleyball techniques, strategies, and game rules.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of team activities, including practices, games, and tournaments.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team updates and expectations.
- Monitor and support the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure eligibility.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to align team goals and strategies.
- Attend all scheduled games and practices, ensuring a high level of commitment and presence.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills to inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Must pass a background check as required by school policy.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
- A passion for mentoring young athletes and promoting their overall development.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the requirements stated in the athletic manual and with the board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
