Job Description

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring a French Language Teacher to provide in-person lessons to our client.

  • Location: Student’s home – Philipsburg, Sint Maarten

  • Preferred start date: ASAP

  • Lesson format: Face-to-face, in-person

Details

  • Availability: Flexible weekdays (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday – time to be confirmed; teacher may suggest a suitable schedule)

  • Lesson Frequency: Once per week

  • Lesson Duration: 1 hour per session

  • Current French level: Complete beginner

  • Native/other languages: Spanish (native), English

  • Goals:

    • Build confidence to hold everyday conversations in French

    • Communicate effectively with her French fiancé and his family

    • Develop grammar foundation and expand vocabulary

    • Improve pronunciation and understanding of local accents

    • Strengthen listening, reading, and writing skills

    • Learn practical, daily-use expressions and conversational phrases

    • Practice language for real-life contexts: restaurants, shopping, giving compliments, and expressing opinions

    • Learn techniques for faster language acquisition

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive, engaging lessons tailored to a beginner learner

  • Focus on conversation and real-life communication skills

  • Introduce grammar and vocabulary through relevant, practical themes

  • Incorporate cultural and contextual learning to enhance motivation

  • Encourage active speaking and listening in every session

  • Provide feedback, track progress, and adapt content based on needs

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in French

  • Degree or certificate in teaching, education, or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching adults at beginner level

  • Ability to design personalized, goal-based lesson plans

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
