Virtual Occupational Health Athletic Trainer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a certified Athletic Trainer with expertise in occupational health to join our team as a Virtual Occupational Health Athletic Trainer. In this role, you will work remotely to support employees in managing work-related injuries and improving overall health. You will leverage your knowledge in injury prevention, ergonomics, and physical health to conduct virtual assessments, develop customized injury prevention plans, make recommendations for first aid injury management, and provide guidance to help employees safely return to work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Injury Management:
• Perform virtual assessments for employees experiencing discomfort or early signs of injury.
• Provide first aid recommendations with provider support, as needed.
• Work collaboratively with client key stakeholders to ensure strong partnership and optimal outcomes for the employee.
• Injury Prevention & Education:
• Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate risk factors for workplace injuries.
• Provide ergonomic assessments and recommendations to reduce musculoskeletal strain.
• Provide education on injury prevention, stretching, proper lifting techniques, and general wellness.
• Return-to-Work Support:
• Collaborate with employees, CAREonsite providers, and client stakeholders to create individualized return-to-work plans.
• Support injured employees through follow-up sessions, addressing ongoing needs and adjustments as they transition back to work.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Maintain accurate records of all care provided and employee progress in compliance with CAREonsite policies, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wellness Support:
• Provide wellness support to employees such as nutrition guidance, stretching specific to their job duty, proactive home fitness plans, and ergonomic tips.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor�s or Master�s degree in Athletic Training
• Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the Board of Certification (BOC).
• State licensure or registration to practice Athletic Training (varies by state).
• Strong knowledge of ergonomics, workplace injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques.
• 3+ years� experience in industrial athletic training, occupational health, or ergonomics.
• Proficiency with virtual communication tools and comfort with remote service delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to educate and engage employees effectively.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of musculoskeletal injuries and ergonomic risk factors.
• Ability to perform effective assessments and recommend interventions remotely.
• Skilled in motivational interviewing and supporting behavior change.
• Tech-savvy and adaptable to using virtual health platforms and digital documentation tools.
