Position Description

The Painter supports Applied Medical’s facilities and operations by delivering high‑quality interior and exterior commercial finishes across manufacturing and business environments. This role ensures buildings, equipment, and workspaces are properly prepared, painted, and maintained to meet appearance, durability, and safety standards. The Painter contributes directly to operational excellence by applying industry‑approved finishing techniques while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet project timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes using approved methods and materials.
  • Perform interior and exterior commercial and industrial painting projects in accordance with work orders and priorities.
  • Operate, maintain, and clean pressure spray machines, power tools, and manual hand tools used in painting operations.
  • Protect surrounding areas by properly masking and covering surfaces prior to painting activities.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and perform touch‑ups as needed.
  • Maintain, organize, and stock painting supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Review daily assignments through management communication and the work order system.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety and quality requirements.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

 

  • Bring ten years of experience performing interior and exterior commercial or industrial painting
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current painting methods, materials, equipment, and application techniques
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other access equipment safely and effectively
  • Lift approximately fifty to eighty pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and bending
  • Work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
  • Adhere to safety regulations and demonstrate attention to detail and quality
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Use a personal vehicle to travel between work sites as needed
  • Maintain availability for overtime, holidays, and weekends based on operational needs
