    Position Title: Special Education Teacher
    Qualifications: 
    Required: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a valid Missouri teaching certificate
    Preferred: Previous experience
     
    FLSA: Exempt
    Salary Schedule: Per Approved Teacher Salary Schedule
    Direct Report:  Director of Special Programs/Building Principal
    Terms of Employment:  9 Month
    Eligible for emergency telework: Yes
     
    Purpose:  Prepares, develops, coordinates and oversees work experience internships for students with disabilities between the St. Joseph School District, Mosaic Life Care and several community agencies.  

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
    • To “telework” when requested by the District.
    • Gather and evaluate IEP data.
    • Maintain special education compliance in all areas.
    • Matches student needs, skills and interests with available internship opportunities.
    • Meet regularly with appropriate Mosaic supervisors to ensure successful internship placements.
    • Problem-solve issues that may arise regarding student interns.
    • Provide necessary training to students prior to placement, and ongoing support once assigned.
    • Must have strong professional communication skills.
     
    • Manage IEP responsibilities for each student. 
    • Other duties assigned.
