    • High School Diploma
    • NH Department of Education Paraeducator Certification
    • Experience working with students preferred

    JOB DESCRIPTION: 

    To Collaborate directly with the special education teacher and classroom teacher to support the whole class, small groups and provide individual learning opportunities fulfilling their IEP goals while promoting independence and self-advocacy. Follows the direction of their assigned special education case manager and meets regulary with the special educator to ensure that special education student's needs are being met according to state and federal laws.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    • To understand the IEP in order to implement goals, objectives and accommodations as assigned by the case manager.
    • To collect data as assigned by the case manager or related service provider.
    • To implement a behavior plan.
    • To develop a system of communication with all staff members working with assigned students.
    • To alert the teacher or case manager of any problem or special information about an individual student including special strategies or instructions.
    • To arrive at duty stations on time and prepared.
    • To maintain a high level of ethical behavior including confidentiality of information about students.
    • To work with individual and/or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
    • To assist with organizational skills and oversee work completion.
    • To operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes or as adaptive equipment.
    • To help students utilize manipulatives and master instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
    • To distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and other materials for distribution as directed by the classroom teacher.
    • To guide remedial work set up and assigned by a classroom teacher or case manager.
    • To assist with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
    • To read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication with students.
    • To check notebooks, supervise testing and make up work as assigned by the classroom teacher.
    • To assist with regular school routine.
    • To assist with wash up and toilet routines.
    • To assist students with their clothing.
    • To participate in training to help develop classroom skills.
    • To be dependable in promptness and attendance.
    • And all other duties as assigned.
    Salary and Benefits:
    Per CESPA Contract $15.25 - $22.74/hr 
    Health/Dental, etc.
