    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
     
    Performs injury prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aid) and reconditioning as set forth by SC DHEC & SCATA.
     
    Oversees assigned pre-season physicals, sporting games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the Director of District Athletics.
     
    Performs proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
     
    Coordinates the annual required athletic physicals
     
    Supervises and maintains athletic training rooms.
     
    Communicates with parents on the care and treatment of their student-athlete.
     
    Maintains a daily treatment log.
     
    Submits athletic injury reports to the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal.
     
    Submits an annual budget for equipment and supply needs for the athletic training room. 
     
    Follows all prescribed treatments and recommendations by medical professionals/physicians.
     
    Assists in monitoring the playing environment for unsafe conditions and risks.
     
    Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the athlete’s status and interpret the appropriate information.
     
    Maintains BOC and CPR certifications in accordance with their respective institutions.
     
    Seeks professional development opportunities and maintains professional memberships.
     
    Athletic Trainer may teach two blocks of Athletic Training/First Aid, if certified to teach by state.
     
    Performs related duties as required.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
     
    Must have athletic training experience preferably at the high school or college level. Must be BOC certified or in the process of acquiring certification and must be a State Certified Athletic Trainer (SCAT) and Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC).  Must be committed to integrity and maintain a positive environment for student-athletes and coaches. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be available to travel with athletic teams for sporting events.

    Work Days: 225 Days
    Salary Range: $46,406-$67,770
