Position Overview
Holy Rosary Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Junior High Science Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. Serving students in grades 6–8, the ideal candidate will foster a love of science while integrating Catholic values and teachings into daily instruction. This teacher will inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based science instruction for junior high students (life, physical, and earth sciences).
• Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and real-world applications.
• Integrate Catholic teachings and values across the curriculum, promoting respect for the dignity of all creation.
• Create a positive, structured, and faith-centered classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Utilize technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians.
• Participate in school liturgies and school community events.
• Uphold and model the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
• Valid state teaching certification (or ability to obtain certification).
• Practicing Catholic preferred, with a commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
• Prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to integrate faith and learning effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
