JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: An associate degree or equivalent, with emphasis on business math, bookkeeping, and accounting required.
Certification or Licensure: None required
Skills: Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office Suite including spreadsheet, presentation and database programs. Ability to demonstrate high levels of teamwork, customer service, confidentiality, and commitment. Strong organizational skills in maintaining records. Must exhibit skills necessary to work independently as well as participate in a collaborative work environment. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reports. Ability to prepare reports and draft professional business correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to work independently. Ability to possess strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student records. Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to possess strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and various integrated applications.
Work Experience: At least 1 year of accounting experience in an education or other professional/commercial business setting required. Computer experience is required.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for managing departmental budgets, and payroll and assisting in the construction, revision, and maintenance of data reports to support the annual budget process preparation, development, monitoring, management, and reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain all financial documents for the school.
- Reconcile and balance all general fund accounts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local Board of Education agencies.
- Act as Lead Bookkeeper for the department: budget information generated at the Coordinator level channeled before submittal to the Director.
- Provide input and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Prepare monthly payroll- subs, staff, internal and external consultant contracts.
- Prepare and maintain an up-to-date Extracurricular/Supplemental pay list
- Manage supplies inventory, and negotiate prices to maintain budgetary constraints
- Coordinate and maintain the After School Program(s), which include direct communication with Principals, Teachers, and Bookkeepers involved in the program
- Request, manage, and report petty cash.
- Responsible for required program data functions
- Maintains personnel and program files
- Serve as a liaison for other district and agency offices.
- Coordinate work with bookkeepers as necessary to complete projects.
- Serve as the financial liaison between the school and other district departments.
- Participate in staff development/training programs to increase skills and proficiency as related to job assignments.
