Job Description

Summary: 

  • The Line Material Handler is responsible for wrapping & labelling finished pallets and ensuring assigned line has adequate materials throughout production. Fifty percent of the time will be spent palletizing & wrapping pallets, and the other fifty percent will be spent supplying the line with materials utilizing material handling equipment.


Essential Functions: 

  • Locates materials and supplies by picking and verifying materials and supplies listed on the work order.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at the production line by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Receives return material and supplies from production by verifying material quantity, placing materials back in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by labeling, loading, pulling, and securing product.
  • Documents product quantity to be shipped by accurately recording cases on pallet sheet.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs.
  • Aware of operational environment to always ensure safety for self and others.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. 
  • Operates and maintains various material handling equipment including forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and utility carts.
  • Maintains organized, clean safe work area.
  • Working with RF Scanning equipment to maintain records of merchandise shipped, as well as examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Finished goods palletizing. 
  • Performs additional duties assigned.

Work Environment: 

  • Manufacturing and Warehousing Environment
  • Areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather
  • Protective gear will be required (for eyes, ears, and feet) 


Hours: 


  • Position requires ability to work overtime, varying start times and weekends dependent on business need
  • 2nd shift hours: Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11pm
  • 3rd shift hours: Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am


Education:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • 3-6 months related experience
