Asset Management Associate

Eagle Rock Properties (“Eagle Rock”) is a New York-based, vertically-integrated real estate firm with an institutional and private investor base. As an investor and operator, Eagle Rock is focused on executing a value-add strategy on suburban multifamily assets located in the Northeast US. Eagle Rock owns and operates roughly 12,000 units worth $3.3 billion and is currently in expansion mode. 


Eagle Rock Advisors is the private equity arm/investment manager of Eagle Rock, responsible for the acquisitions, asset management, and investor relations functions of the business. Eagle Rock Advisors is headquartered in New York, NY.


The Role:


Asset management function within Eagle Rock serves as the liaison between the investment management and property management sides of the business, responsible for financial performance tracking, implementation of investment-specific strategic initiatives and goals, and identification of value opportunities. The Associate role is focused on direct property oversight and leading the execution of asset-level business plans, in partnership with property management and internal stakeholders.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Lead asset-level performance reviews, identify operational issues, and drive implementation of corrective actions with property management.
  • Own property-level reporting and KPI tracking to support internal decision-making and investor reporting.
  • Evaluate value-add opportunities and execute asset business plan initiatives, including market research, revenue enhancement, and expense optimization.
  • Manage periodic updates to property-level financial models, forecasts, and cash flow projections; support distribution and waterfall calculations as needed.
  • Lead the annual budget and reforecast process for assigned assets in coordination with property management.
  • Oversee capital expenditures (CapEx) for assigned assets, including budget, scope, timeline, vendor coordination, and project tracking.
  • Lead onboarding of new acquisitions from closing through stabilization, including coordination of property management transition, initial reporting, and business plan kickoff.
  • Drive implementation of property business plans, including operational initiatives and revenue management strategies.
  • Conduct regular site visits and to review personnel performance and property condition.
  • Lead execution support for refinancings and dispositions, including lender/buyer diligence, data room coordination, and internal/external deliverables.



Qualifications:

 

Qualified candidates will have a BA/BS degree and 4 to 7 years of relevant real estate, asset management, development, or acquisition experience.

 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • An analytical background, looking to apply their analytic skills often through problem-solving and financial analysis.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit looking to solve new problems and pioneer new processes within a growing business.
  • Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, resourceful team player who works autonomously and asks for support when needed.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage workload, prioritize competing deadlines, and communicate expectations to both internal customers and external third-party vendors.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor and develop others, and provide effective supervision when applicable.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills with a strong work ethic.

Compensation:

 

The compensation for this role is $125,000-$165,000 with, commensurate with experience.
